Does GoDaddy Host Websites?

GoDaddy is the biggest domain registrar in the World. It was founded in 1997. It has 14 facilities in different countries. More than 17.5 million people use this service.

Does Godaddy Host Websites

GoDaddy is a popular company known for its Super Bowl commercials. It offers many services, including hosting, domain registration, and email.

Their prices aren’t as low as others, but they do offer great customer service.

But does GoDaddy host websites? Keep on reading to find out!

GoDaddy Features

GoDaddy offers a free domain for a year or longer if you register for a certain amount of time. You can also purchase additional years of registration.

You should note that you need to pay an additional 18 cents per domain name per year to register a domain name.

You can get a free year’s subscription to Microsoft Office 365 business email by registering a domain name with GoDaddy.

That said, GoDaddy does offer a lot of storage space. For most sites, it takes a long time to fill up the storage space.

Beyond the basic Economy plan, you can add more websites and subdomains to your account.

You also get free HTTPS for one full year. Business shared hosting offers more computing resources.

Is GoDaddy Hosting Easy To Use?

Choosing your hosting plan with GoDaddy is very easy. You choose the plan you want, then there are well-labeled offers for several optional add ons.

The only add-ons selected by default are website backup and site security. The other possible add ons include an SSL certificate for HTTPS and domain privacy.

After the package is set up you arrive at a simplified user interface. From here you create an email account, build a website, access your site’s cPanel control panel, and view your stats.

Everything in this section is very clean and simple. Ideal for new users.

Once inside the cPanel section, things can get a bit confusing, but the design remains very clear.

On the right side of the page, you see your stats such as file usage, space used, bandwidth, etc.

This can help you determine how much you’re using and what you need to do to increase your limits.

The main part of the window takes up the different categories of cPanel. There are many categories, but there are also some sub-categories within each category.

Pricing Value For Money

GoDaddy offers great deals on web hosting services. You can get a three-year package for $3.99/month or a six-month package for $2.99/month.

There are other packages available such as the Business Plan, which costs $9.99/month. These prices are correct at the time of writing.

GoDaddy’s web hosting services are very affordable. Their starter plans are cheap, but if you want to host more than 1 site, then you’ll need to upgrade your package.

You can get a free domain name as well.

Virtual Private Servers start at $19.99/month for a VPS with 1 GB of RAM, 40 GB storage, unlimited bandwidth, 3 dedicated IP addresses, and a free SSL cert.

After the first year, the price jumps to $30 per month. Three other VPS plans range from $24.99/month to $74.99/month.

Dedicated hosting is an expensive service. You pay more than $100 a month for a single server.

Small businesses and blogs with the right amount of traffic should consider dedicated hosting.

WordPress Starter Templates

GoDaddy offers many free templates to help you get started. These templates are beautiful and modern, and there are plenty to choose from.

This theme is mobile-friendly. No need to redo anything since the design will automatically adapt.

Also, this theme comes with a lot of features. Some providers charge extra to make the demo content available by default.

Having a theme with demo content makes the website building process easy. You can simply change the demo text and images to your own, and the website is ready to go.

If you want to use GoDaddy’s starter templates, all the demos are already set up for you, for free! So I was impressed by that too.

Overall, GoDaddy takes an extra step in terms of making the website building process easier, but it’s a good WordPress hosting service and starter templates are a good option for beginners and those who want to get started quickly.

GoDaddy Speed

GoDaddy Speed

The site loads quickly because it doesn’t need to send data over long distances.

Data travels slower in the UK than in the US, but loading time is still within the recommended 2.5-second window.

Next up, I went through Google’s Blogger and installed one of the templates with demo content on it (which was the same as the starter).

This made the blog heavier and increased LCP by about 100%. Still, an excellent result considering the template had some nice pictures on it!

But this doesn’t help me to compare it with other providers. That’s what makes me go into my regular Astra theme, which I use for all providers.

This time, we increased the loading speed by 50% and still managed to stay within the recommended 2.5-second window.

However, providers like Hostinger, SiteGround, and Bluehost load this theme in less than a second because they have optimized their servers (Also check out BlueHost Vs GoDaddy).

I cannot say the same thing about GoDaddy.

Security – Is GoDaddy Secure?

GoDaddy doesn’t provide any kind of security whatsoever. Their standard plans include basic security features such as email privacy and protection, but nothing else.

SSL certificates are available only with higher-priced plans. Free SSL certificates are offered only for a limited time.

Security features are always included in any plan. The provider doesn’t elaborate at all about them.

They’re a guessing game. Does anybody know if these features are actually implemented or not?

This service provides 24/7 monitoring of your network. It also protects you from DDoS attacks, viruses, and spam.

It’s only an assumption because there isn’t much information about it online.

As for the email & privacy protections with 256-bit encryption from GoDaddy, it’s guaranteed by them, but you can’t really find it anywhere.

I searched through that dashboard like nobody’s business, and I got nowhere. It wore the cloak of invisibility and we can only hope that it’s there.

So what do you know? You have to pay for it if you want to add some extra security features from GoDaddy. And that is a heavy price.

GoDaddy bundles up a bunch of stuff into a single package – SSL Certificate, Web Application Firewall, and Malware Scanning and Cleanup.

WAF is an acronym for web application firewall. It protects your website from attacks by blocking malicious code.

You can get this feature for free if you use other services such as Google Apps or Microsoft Office 365. However, if you want more advanced protection, you’ll need to pay for it.

Customer Support – Will GoDaddy Help Me?

GoDaddy’s customer support is very helpful. There are many options available including live chat, phone support, and email support.

Their website offers a lot of information about how to use the service. I found out that the company has been awarded awards for its excellent customer service.

However, some customers complain that the support team does not answer emails or provide answers quickly.

Coincidentally or not, GoDaddy’s support is pretty good. Wait times are almost nonexistent.

Agents aren’t completely fluent in English, so sometimes communication issues occur. There’s a Help Center, a Community Forum, a Blog, and a System Status Page.

GoDaddy is a great option for web hosting. You’ll have to pay a bit more than with other major hosting providers, but there are plenty of benefits to consider.

Free Microsoft Office 365 email, free SSL certificates, and most domains for free are among them.

GoDaddy is an excellent choice for people who want to host their own site or domain name.

With several data centers around the world, GoDaddy is easy to use and offers many different services.
